Welcome To Our School

It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to Harvey Road Primary School.

At Harvey Road, we pride ourselves in collectively striving for excellence and enjoyment in all areas of school life.  We have a strong tradition of celebrating personal, team and whole-school achievement while maintaining a broad and balanced curriculum that caters for everyone in our community.

Harvey Road is a community co-education school and admits children aged between 4 and 11 years old.  At Harvey Road we also have a Nursery.

We encourage all of our pupils to achieve to the best of their ability, expand their horizons, be thoughtful and considerate towards others and to value and understand our wider environment.  Harvey Road works hard to nurture independence in our pupils and to prepare them for their varied roles in society.

We have a highly motivated and skilled staff and a very active Governing Board who support the school’s drive for excellence.  Our thriving Parents’ Association likewise takes an active part in the life of our school through supporting teachers and children as well as organising many fund-raising events every year.

The School has a commitment to safeguarding pupils, following guidance from the Local Authority and the Department for Education. This is described in the Child Protection Policy which is available from the School Office and via the School Website. It includes a commitment to safer recruitment.

The school is situated within a residential area and is very close to woodlands.  The grounds are extensive and include playing fields, three playgrounds, a nature reserve that includes a large pond and an outdoor swimming pool.

Our purpose-built school has been carefully designed to meet the requirements of the modern curriculum.  All classrooms are fully equipped with facilities dedicated to individual age groups, including chromebooks and interactive white boards.  Furthermore, we have areas within the school that cater for musical tuition, PE, drama, support work and ICT.
